Riding School
The Scottish Equestrian Centre at Bowhouse is a BHS approved Riding School and a Pony Club accredited Teaching Centre.
We are an ideal place to learn to ride, or improve on existing skills and welcome clients of all ages and abilities to our school. We have a lower age limit of 5 years old with no upper limit!
We have a large range of well schooled horses and ponies to suit all abilities. Clients are welcome to bring their own horses for their lesson. Our staff get satisfaction from helping both the horse and rider improve.
Our BHS qualified staff can cater for all ages and abilities - from beginners to the more advanced - and can teach you to ride the correct way. They are always happy to give clients advice on which lessons they would benefit from.
Please note that all new clients to our Riding School must complete a 30 minute Assessment Lesson. This allows the Teaching Staff to assess ability, experience, and level of competence.
They must also complete and sign a Rider Registration Form.
The Riding School can provide riding boots, hats, and other equipment if necessary, free of charge. Our Tack Shop stocks all these items if you wish to purchase them.
Clients are asked to wear tracksuit bottoms or jodhpurs. Jeans should not be worn as this looks unprofessional and will also nip the legs.
Riders are asked to arrive 15 minutes before the start of their lesson so they have time to get prepared.
The Riding School is open Tuesday - Sunday. We have a late night available on a Tuesday, with the last lesson starting at 8.00pm.
The School is closed on a Monday to give the Horses and Ponies a rest so they are always ready for the busy week ahead.
