Riding School at The Scottish Equestrian Centre

"We will bring you on, and develop you as a rider"

The Scottish Equestrian Centre is approved as a Riding School by the BHS, and accredited as a Teaching Centre by the Pony Club.

Lessons and classes are available both indoors and outdoors, for all levels of rider, whatever their ability and interest. We can offer instruction in all riding disciplines, and we regularly hold both masterclasses with top eventers, and starter classes for complete novices. Children from seven years old and upwards are very welcome at the centre, and are well catered for by our friendly staff, and large selection of steady riding school ponies. Our horses and ponies vary in size from 11 hh, to 17.2hh, and we have all the riding boots, hats and other equipment necessary, to ensure you have both a safe and enjoyable time.

At the Scottish Equestrian Centre, we regularly run horse care, nutrition, and stable management classes, and for the youngsters we have an established programme of Pony Camps and competitions. We aim to encourage children, and get them to want to learn about pony and horse care, as well as increasing their confidence and improving their riding ability.

Lesson Structure and Price

Everyone coming to the Scottish Equestrian Centre seeking riding instruction, must undergo a 30 minute assessment lesson (costing £15) before starting with their chosen course of lessons or tuition. This allows the centre staff to properly match animals to riders size, ability, and chosen discipline.

Novices and beginners are led by an instructor, until they are confident enough to ride at a rising trot, without any help.

Located just north of Kirkcaldy, in Fife, Scotland, our excellent facilities include an indoor arena, irrigated outdoor arena, woodland and farmland hacks and trails, three separate light and airy stable blocks, each with it’s own tack room and
facilities.

Our riding school boasts a wide range of horses and ponies, allowing us to cater for every rider, regardless of size and/or needs.
