Hacking Ranges of Rides The Scottish Equestrian Centre at Bowhouse is located in the beautiful Fife countryside, just north of Kirkcaldy. We offer a variety of different rides ranging from Beginner to Advanced level: Assisted Walk Out: This ride is recommended for young, inexperienced or disabled riders. You would be assisted on the lead-rein by a member of the Bowhouse Team walking along side you, round our hacking trail which overlooks the beautiful Scottish countryside & span round the whole of the equestrian facility. The whole experience will last 30 minutes. Maximum of 2 riders. Ride Out: This ride is recommended for beginner to novice riders who can walk & trot independently. This is an introduction for beginner riders to learn how to ride a horse outside, you will be escorted round our hacking trial which overlooks the beautiful Scottish countryside & spans round the whole of the equestrian facility, with one of our Qualified Instructors riding alongside you with a lead horse; your Instructor will help you maintain a level of control, style & ability while on your Ride Out. The whole experience will last 30 minutes. Maximum of 4 riders. Prices follow our lesson structure Senior & Junior Coach rates. Hack: This ride is recommended for Intermediate to Advanced riders who can walk, trot & canter independently. You will be escorted round various beautiful Scottish locations including: Hacking trail which overlooks the beautiful Scottish countryside & spans round the whole of the equestrian facility, Woodland Trails which consist of some lovely long cantering tracks giving a good sense of fun! Farmland which will take you for a behind the scene of Fifes countryside trails. We offer a 30 minute hack or a 1 hour hack. Maximum of 5 riders. Prices Assisted Walk-out - £15 for ½ hour. Ride Out - Prices start from £22. Hack - £22 for ½ hour & £32 for 1 hour. Terms & Conditions We like to ensure safe and happy riders and horses so we ask that anyone booking a ride out or hack, completes an assessment lesson with one of our instructors prior to the hack. The assessment can be booked as a 15 minute extra session if you feel you ride competently to hack. Our qualified instructors will assess your riding and horsemanship ability prior to taking you on a hack. |
