Riding School Terms & Conditions

Terms and Conditions:

All riders, novice riders and beginners wishing to take riding lessons at The Scottish Equestrian Centre, must take a 30 minute Assessment Lesson, regardless of their experience or riding ability. The purpose of this assessment is to allow the teaching staff to properly match each rider to the appropriate horse/pony,a dn to assess their experience and level of competence. The assessment also has the advantage of allowing each client to see how lessons and classes are operated at the Riding School.

Booking Procedure:

All lessons are by arrangement and appointment only. Lessons which are cancelled less than 48 hours before the lesson is due to take place, will be charged in full Refunds will not be issued against any group bookings or voucher packages when any lessons attributed to such packages are cancelled less than 48 hours before the arranged time for each particular lesson.

Everyone taking a lesson at The Scottish Equestrian Centre must behave and act in an appropriate and fitting manner while at the Centre and around the horses. any unappropriate behaviour before the lesson will result in the lesson being cancelled with no refund. Any unappropriate behaviour during any lesson will result in the lesson being immediately terminated, with no refund or compensation being given.

All clients must wear approved head protection and appropriate footwear and clothing. riding hats and boots are provided free of charge for each lesson if required, for the first four months of tuition; thereafter each rider is expected to provide their own riding attire and body protection.

Back protectors must be worn, as well as approved hats and riding boots in all lessons where jumping is involved.

At The Scottish Equestrian centre at Bowhouse, the Instructor responsible for each lesson will determine which horse or pony is being used for that lesson, and in which arena the lesson will be held in.

Grievance Procedures:

Any and all grievances or complaints regarding any aspect of any lesson or procedural operation, or any member of staff at the Centre should be immediately addressed in writing to Robin Shedden - Managing Director, via the office address, or by email robin@scottishequestrian.co.uk.
